With over three decades at the forefront of international relations scholarship, Kaveh Afrasiabi has carved a singular path bridging the academic world and the arena of diplomacy — advising governments, addressing the United Nations, and contributing to the world's most respected journals and policy forums.
He earned his PhD from Boston University under the supervision of the distinguished historian Howard Zinn, and has been a visiting scholar at Harvard, UC Berkeley, and Binghamton University. During 2004–2005, he served as an advisor to Iran's nuclear negotiation team.
The author of more than a dozen widely cited works spanning geopolitics, theology, poetry, and fiction, his scholarship continues to shape how policymakers, academics, and the informed public understand the forces reshaping our world.
